N°35 Statement Earrings

Here comes a delicious & rare stone…. Maligano Jasper. For me these Maligano Jasper earrings are wearable landscapes, echoing the ancient beauty of Australia's rugged terrain as seen from the sky. The intricate gray, black, gold, and ochre patterns within the stones resemble winding rivers, cracked earth, and golden sunlit plains, making each earring a miniature piece of aerial art. 

The name stems from the small village it was found in on the island of Sulawesi which is part of the four Greater Sunda Islands. It contains multiple different colours of Jasper (blue, red, orange, yellow, grey & beige) with veins of a greyish-silver Agate that has filled the cavities. 

At this stage, most people in the crystal community have not even heard of this new Jasper. This is probably due to the inaccessibility of the deposit, as well as the limited amount that is usually pulled out of the ground.

I mixed this exquisite Jasper with understated yet divine Labradorite  because the Jasper does all the talking in this partnership (set into a oxidised silver-plated base; 5.7cm shortie!).
