Nature's Brushstrokes: Australian Dendritic Opal that feels like Japanese Artistry!

Do you like the idea of wearing a “chemical painting” that is bold & understated in equal measure? A piece that can so effortlessly lift a simple outfit that it will become a wardrobe staple for years?  If so, then this Dendritic set might be for you.

The dendrites in the opal are made by Manganese over millions of years - turning each stone into a little painting - with an imaginary landscape or object only the wearer will see.  When I still sold at the Rocks market, every person saw something else in these stones- and it was just wonderful to see how different peoples brains worked! 

While I always feel like they are a delicate Japanese ink painting, these come actually from Australia. This opal variety is termed "dendritic" due to its internal collection of dendrites. Dendrites are those fern-like inclusions of iron, manganese, or other metallic oxides that create bold patterns within the gem. Typically, dendritic opals are cut into slices to best exhibit nature's artwork- like in this pendant.  Mixed with high quality faceted Onyx, smooth white pearls and silver & 22k gold-plated charms, this set is a little stunner with a great story.

I kept the statement earrings are super short (4.5cm) and simple because the exquisite patterns need no competition and there is second smaller pair of Onyx & Pearl earrings on elegant French ear wires, for when you feel like a little less.

I designed the necklace as a shortie with a good-length extender chain, so the necklace can site optimally on your décolletage- whatever size you are.
