N°94 Christmas 2025 Special Earrings

Pilbara Stone, Istanbul Silver, Komodo Soul

There are moments in the ocean when colour becomes a kind of language. Off Komodo, I found an anemone whose folds glowed in deep burnt oranges and earthen reds—tones that felt less like pigment and more like breath. Those shapes stayed with me, looping back into memory when I held these rare Mu'uqayt (Mookaite) stones from the Pilbara. Their lines echoed the anemone’s, chameleon-like and alive, as though stone and creature shared a secret palette.

These earrings were born from that echo: 6 cm of sculptural silver-plated lace from Istanbul and Seoul, holding warm citrine above the Mu'uqayt’s molten patterns. They feel grounded and elemental, yet quietly luminous—as if wearing them lets you carry a piece of ancient Australia touched by a moment in Komodo’s night-lit water.

I'd like to think they create a deep connection between ocean and land; they hum with the beauty of encounters that never truly leave.
