A Locket Worn Like a Pulse Beneath the Surface

The emotional feel of this set immediately brings me back to the quiet awe of a sunset dive — that magical time when the reef changes personality. As the sunlight dips and the warm oranges and pinks bounce off the reef walls, everything feels gentler, almost tender. 

The necklace is a layered experience, much like a dive itself. The soft pink rose Quartz beads  remind me of the way coralline algae stains reef rocks a blush tone, especially in shallow waters. At the centre, the brighter orange stone instantly recalls the vibrant flash of an anthias darting between coral bommies — a sudden pop of fiery colour that draws your eye.

Layered with richer rust tones of Hessonite Garnet, it echoes the way certain anemones and soft corals glow under late afternoon light.  The additional silver chain, ending in a delicate sphere locket, feels like a treasure itself: a reef relic captured in time, much like a crab or shrimp tucked into its perfect home. However, it contains a lava ball, which is there to be infused with your favourite perfume, so you can carry the scent all day.

The earrings perfectly expand on this story, offering two styles depending on how you want to tell it:

• The bold orange carnelian and pink Peruvian Opal pair is full of energy — it feels like schooling fish at the end of the day, flashing colour and movement as they catch the final rays. They add a real boost of cheer and vibrancy to the set and would instantly lift any outfit.
• The second pair of intarsia Rose Quartz & Hematite intarsia stones, with their softer pink tones and geometric top, feel a little more thoughtful and architectural, reminding me of the clean forms of fan corals silhouetted against the surface light 6.7cm long).
