Inspired by Birds Who Debate Their Breakfast Plans

This set began with the crows. A whole family of them has made my neighbourhood their headquarters, and every dawn they launch into what scientists call a cawing conference — a genuine collective decision-making ritual about where to forage for the day. They recognise faces, remember grudges, improvise tools, and run a democracy tighter than most parliaments. Watching them each morning ( way too early!) felt like being invited into a very smart, very opinionated committee.
And that sharp, clever, slightly chaotic energy became the blueprint.

The larger necklace is built around fossilised sea-sediment jasper slabs, those impossible volcanic oranges that look like magma paused mid-cooling. Each slab has its own internal map of fractures and sediment, and I anchored the heat with deep chocolate pearls to give the palette weight.

The second necklace shifts into motion: pearls, warm orange agates, and a raw, naturally faceted carnelian at the centre. Everything sits on a clean silver-plated structure, so the geology gets to shine without interference. Both necklaces can be worn alone, stacked, or linked into a mid or long piece, though the slabs are unapologetically designed to rest high and strong across the décolletage.

The earrings stay deliberately streamlined: a small pair with faceted agates, pearls, and tiny top agates; and a statement pair featuring smooth Botswana agate set in silver-plated frames 

(7.5cm long). Simple lines, strong stones, one cohesive vocabulary.

It’s a set with the same qualities as the crows that inspired it: smart, direct, warm, a little wild — and absolutely sure of itself.
