The Emperor, Reworked

The muse for this necklace came out of the dark like it owned it. Deep inside the wreck of the USS Liberty, that emperor angelfish didn’t swim so much as appear—electric blue lines, acid yellow edges, a face that looked like Bowie designed it and the ocean refined it.
This set holds that tension. Royal blues—lapis lazuli from Afghanistan, kyanite, Brazilian agates—cut with that sharp citrus strike of Canadian lemon jade. The carved jade fish pendant (one of the last I brought back from Singapore in the early 90s) anchors everything, layered with sea sediment jasper from Hong Kong and softened by blister pearls from Shanghai. Bright, but disciplined.

Two necklaces, both with extender chains (22k gold-plated ): one sits closer, structured with alternating beads and that precise colour rhythm; the other drops longer, carrying the carved pendant and movement. Wear them separately for restraint, stack them for density, or connect them into one long, fluid line that shifts with you.

Three earring moods. The statement pair: elongated, lightly articulated drops with peridot accents and Brazilian nuggets—noticeable, but balanced, with a gentle swing rather than weight. The minimal pair: small kyanite rectangles, crisp and almost weightless, catching just enough light. And the long French wires: fine, elegant arcs with simple lapis drops that lengthen the line of the neck without ever feeling heavy.

Seen once, gone the next second—but you won’t forget it.
