Classic Pearls, Wild Intent

I am addicted to working with pearls — because they are stunning, yes — but too often they’re treated like they belong in a polite, predictable world. I always want to push against that, I love taking the classical language of pearls and give it a contemporary accent, a little tension, a little edge.

The starting point was the triple mother-of-pearl dome — bold enough to feel sculptural, timeless enough to feel familiar. From there, the outer necklace became a deliberate mix of forms: drop pearls, button pearls, square pearls, stick pearls, threaded through with tiny raw quartz crystals, moonstone, and silver-plated hematite chevrons. A palette in gold and silver so it doesn’t argue with anything you wear — it just shifts, flexes, adapts. It’s the wild side of pearls without losing their dignity.

The inner necklace is the counterpoint — clean, quiet, architectural. A silver hematite cube, framed by gold & silver-plated chevrons and a handful of pearls. Understated, but not shy.

Both necklaces can be worn independently, stacked, or connected into a mid-length or long necklace, depending on the day and your mood.

The statement earrings carry the same energy: 6.4 cm, 22k gold-plated pieces, warm and classical.  For softer days, the smaller pair brings a silver-plated bar with tiny moonstone and pearls — a distilled echo of the full set.

I made this set because pearls deserve better than “nice.” They can be structured, sculptural, contemporary. They can behave — or not. And that’s when they’re interesting.
