Emerald Encounter

Nothing quite prepares you for the first time a wild elephant simply appears beside the road, not in a national park or on safari, but near a city, quietly feeding as though this enormous, ancient presence belongs there far more naturally than you do. This young bull stood against the most extraordinary wall of tropical green, all bottle-dark shadow, emerald leaves and flashes of light, and that saturated jungle palette stayed with me.

I translated it here with exceptionally beautiful malachite from the Congo, its natural bands moving through deep and vivid greens, paired with bottle-green quartz crystals and set into a 22k gold-plated base from Seoul (7.0cm long).

For the wearer, they carry something of that encounter: lushness without prettiness, grandeur without fuss, and that slightly thrilling sense of being reminded that the wild world is still very much out there, going about its business.
