N°111 Statement Earrings

While diving off Komodo Island, I was mesmerised by the exhalant siphon of a giant clam—a portal of shifting iridescence, deep blues, fiery golds, and glowing electric lines. The intricate patterns and light refractions in the clam’s mantle became the inspiration for these handcrafted Lapis Lazuli and Citrine earrings, set in a 22k gold-plated frame.

The deep, celestial blue of Lapis Lazuli mirrors the clam’s hypnotic mantle, where electric blues seem to glow like bioluminescent pathways. The smooth, teardrop shape of the lapis stone mimics the organic curve of the siphon, capturing the depth and mystery of this remarkable mollusk. The dangling raw citrine stones represent the golden glow found at the heart of the siphon, where water, rich with nutrients, is expelled in a rhythmic dance. Just as citrine’s faceted edges catch the light, the clam’s siphon pulses with iridescent energy, shifting in color with every movement.

The circular gold hoop structure surrounding the lapis mirrors the rippling flow of water around the siphon’s opening, giving the earrings a sense of movement, balance, and flow.
