N°095 Statement Earrings - The Vanuatu Collection

The Scolymia coral on the right, with its vivid green tissue and complex speckled patterning, became the direct muse for the earrings on the left. I was struck by the way its surface seemed to hold both depth and translucence, a living gradient of marine greens and blues. That living palette translated almost instinctively into an assemblage of gemstones—each chosen to echo a different ecological note from the coral.

At the base of the silver-plated structure sits a faceted chalcedony drop, its softness of tone reflecting the coral’s central glow. Branching upward, green onyx, Australian chrysoprase, agate, and Brazilian chrysocolla bring the full spectrum of reef-green variation, from deep saturated tones to the lighter, water-washed hues. The playful, almost molecular geometry of the silver frame creates movement without weight, allowing these earrings to be astonishingly light and easy to wear.

To me, they are one of the most joyful translations of reef life into daily adornment—a little structural echo of coral tissue carried into human design. Wearing them feels like carrying the reef’s humor and brilliance into everyday life, reminding me that ecology isn’t only about function—it is about color, form, and play.
