When I first saw this Plerogyra coral, I was drawn to the elegance of its inflated vesicles—delicate bubbles filled with water to increase surface area for its algal symbionts. It is a perfect example of ecological design: form serving function in a way that is both efficient and breathtaking.
To translate that into jewellery, I chose moonstone for its ethereal glow and Botswana agate for its layered aqua tones, echoing the translucence and depth of the coral tissue.
Set into a 22k gold-plated base, the composition mirrors both structure and luminosity.
For me, these earrings hold the quiet intelligence of reef life—where beauty and survival are inseparable.
