The sand anemone pictured here reveals an extraordinary anatomy—its oral disc patterned with concentric stripes that radiate outward like fine brushstrokes. These lines are not only decorative but serve to maximize surface interaction with water flow, enhancing respiration and the movement of nutrients.

It was this precision in form and function that I sought to translate into these earrings. Rare Owyhee opal from the U.S. captures the same pale blue luminosity, while aquamarine and agate add depth and variation, echoing the anemone’s subtle layering. Set into a silver-plated base, the design holds the rhythm of stripes and the calm of tidal movement.

For me, these earrings embody the reef’s artistry—where necessity is never plain, but expressed through patterns of quiet brilliance.
