The clustered polyps of this coral, glowing with ultra-structural precision, reveal more than beauty: their vivid green pigments are photoprotective, shielding delicate symbiotic algae from excess light while allowing photosynthesis to thrive. That dual role of resilience and radiance became the blueprint for these earrings.

I worked with lime-colored quartz and green onyx to echo the coral’s saturated fluorescence, while the tiniest flecks of malachite capture the intricate depth within each living polyp. The hammered silver-plated triangles mirror the modular repetition of the coral’s skeleton, their geometry grounding the organic curves of the stones.

To me, these earrings are not only a tribute to coral ecology but also to the elegance of adaptation—the way reef organisms transform necessity into vibrancy. Wearing them feels like carrying a fragment of that story: light harnessed, structure celebrated, and color that is both protection and allure.
