Has 14 million year old bogwood ever looked better?

Larsonite/Bogwood is one of the rarest and most interesting types of petrified wood around and has a pretty interesting story geologically. The material is only found in northern Nevada and southern Oregon (and is mainly mined out). 14 million years ago, this material was over what is now Yellowstone Park and was bog/wetlands. Volcanic eruptions in the area caused the trees to fall into the water and be covered with ash, which prevented oxygen from causing decay. As the hot springs brought up heated mineral rich water (iron, sodium, calcium, potassium mainly), these soon replaced the wood and provided the vibrant colors you see here. As the tectonic plates slowly shifted over millions of years, this material moved into the Nevada/Oregon location.

Inspired by a burrowing anemone of the same hue, the Larsonite is paired with fiery labradorite from Madagascar, flashing like heat trapped under stone, and grounded by a tiny Brazilian agate—quiet, precise, and geological to the core. Set into an antique silver-plated base, the composition balances fossil forest, living tide pool, and volcanic flash.

Incredible delicate hued, super rare,  sharpened through time and now wearable.
