N°028 Statement Earrings - The Vanuatu Collection

The massive corals that dominate reefs reveal their vitality most clearly in their tissue. Here, the deep orange polyps form undulating ridges and valleys, patterns that not only house symbiotic algae but also embody the resilience of reef ecosystems. Translating that morphology into jewellery, I turned to stones whose surfaces and colours carry a similar energy.

These earrings are built around bold slabs of Jasper from Utah, their fractured lines reminiscent of coral channels. Above them sit agates, jade, and quartz, each chosen for its structural clarity and chromatic balance. The hammered, gold-plated setting frames the stones with warmth, catching light in much the same way coral tissue glows beneath shallow water. The earrings were photographed in the full Australian sun, where their colours radiate with the same intensity as their living inspiration.

To me, they hold the essence of coral: strength in form, brilliance in hue, and an enduring reminder of beauty shaped by structure.
