N°018 Statement Earrings - The Vanuatu Collection

The interplay between reef structure and behaviour has always fascinated me, and few sights capture it better than the one-centimetre juvenile blue-green chromis. These tiny fish instinctively select Acropora colonies as their sanctuary, weaving in and out of the coral branches until they are large enough to venture into open water. That ecological dance—shelter, colour, and movement—became the foundation for these earrings.

I shaped the design around hammered silver-plated forms that suggest both texture and protection, much like the Acropora surface.
Dangling beneath are faceted aquamarine and agate beads, their translucent blues reflecting the shimmer of a chromis school as light moves across their scales. At the centre hangs a sculpted silver fish, a direct reference to the juveniles whose presence animates coral heads with bursts of life.

Wearing these earrings feels like carrying a fragment of that hidden reef moment—playful, fleeting, and quietly essential—into everyday life.
