Unakite That Knows When to Glow

These earrings are about colour as context, not spectacle. The inspiration came from a green anemone with an orange anemonefish at its centre — greens that appeared vivid in direct light and softened immediately in shade, the contrast always anchored by that single flash of orange.

Unakite born in the Unaka Mountains of the Appalachians mirrors that same shift. In strong light, the stone reveals saturated olive greens threaded with warm orange; away from the sun, those tones settle into a quieter, mossy palette. Nothing artificial — just mineral responding honestly to light. Tiny hessonite and peridot from India echo the anemonefish’s warmth, while hammered sterling silver bars from Thailand add texture and structure. Everything is held in a silver-plated framework crafted between Seoul and Jaipur, forming a lightweight 6.5-centimetre drop.
