N°076 Statement Earrings - The Vanuatu Collection

The clustered bulbous tips of this anemone were irresistible to me—their rounded, translucent forms swelling with light, each one both delicate and strong.

In the earrings, I mirrored this repetition of spherical form with bold discs of African jade, chosen for its exceptional quality and marbling. The surface of the jade carries deep river-like currents of green, evoking both geological depth and the fluidity of living tissue. Suspended within silver-plated circles, the discs echo the geometry of the anemone’s polyps while allowing space and movement.

To balance the composition, I introduced the smallest details: luminous pearls recalling the sheen of the anemone’s tentacle tips, and fragments of malachite that intensify the layered green palette. These subtle inclusions tie the whole structure together, as if tracing the gradients of colour found underwater.

For me, these earrings capture the meeting point of science and adornment—where an anemone’s anatomy becomes not just observed, but lived again in another form.
