N°058 Statement Earrings - The Vanuatu Collection

The delicate anemone in this photograph, its translucent bubbles nestled within the brown tissue of a coral colony, became the starting point for these earrings.

I was fascinated by the contrast—the softness of the anemone’s inflated vesicles against the rigid framework of its host coral. Translating that ecology into form, I combined Tibetan turquoise and chrysoprase to echo the shifting greens of the anemone, while smoky quartz and agate captured its shadowed depths.

Hammered strip of 22k gold-plated bars anchor the composition, much like the coral skeleton provides structure. 
For me, these earrings carry the memory of that underwater encounter, distilled into mineral and metal, I hope they do for you too.
