The Geometry of Night

Some creatures make you question whether nature or architecture came first. The basket star — that nocturnal cousin of sea stars — is one of them. By day, it curls into a sleepy knot. By night, it unfurls into a metre-wide fractal chandelier, a living lacework of creamy ochres and golds drifting through the Coral Sea.

That hypnotic geometry became these 7.1 cm earrings — Japanese landscape jasper carved in natural topographies, linked through Thai sterling-silver lotus forms, and accented with Indian hessonite and a whisper of carnelian. Each piece holds the same disciplined chaos: mineral order echoing biological design.
