The giant clam’s mantle, with its iridescent tissue and delicate siphonal appendages, has always struck me as an extraordinary meeting of biology and geometry. Its folds and inhalant structures are not just functional—they are architectural, patterned with colour and form that feel almost designed for translation into adornment.

That vision became the foundation for these earrings. I set an extraordinary pair of chrysocolla drops—stones whose oceanic blues and greens are a near-perfect echo of the clam’s living tissue—into a 22k gold-plated frame. Above them, a carefully balanced stack of green onyx, agate, and a single lapis lazuli bead from Afghanistan provides both contrast and continuity, mirroring the minute siphonal ornamentations that animate the clam’s surface. The gold hoops act as a skeletal frame, much like the shell holds the clam’s luminous body.

To me, these earrings capture a dialogue between structure and softness, geology and biology—a reminder that even the smallest reef creatures can inspire designs that feel timeless, luminous, and alive.
