This set began with a snorkel near Tathra on the south coast of New South Wales, where the water was so cold it locked my hands to the point where I was almost unable to operate the camera, and yet the colour—those pale mustard yellows dissolving into deeper ochres against luminous turquoise-green—cut through with a clarity that stayed long after the cold had gone.

That contrast holds the piece together, with a sequence of raw citrine set in deliberately rough, almost geological bezels that keep the stone in its fractured, unrefined state, balanced by an exceptional labradorite pendant that anchors the line and shifts through dark blue, turquoise, and flashes of that same mustard yellow whenever the light decides to hit it just right. The composition is tightened and softened through smooth silver pearls that sit in deliberate opposition to the rawness of the citrine, creating a rhythm that feels controlled without losing its edge, while the extender chain allows the necklace to sit higher, drop lower, or adjust entirely depending on how the contrast needs to read.

The three earring directions extend that same interplay, moving from raw citrine drops with small silver pearls and labradorite accents (6.5cm long), to more statement labradorite forms anchored by citrine studs (5.2cm long), through to fine pearl drops with two tones of citrine on elongated French wires that carry the line with restraint.
