Where Colour Becomes Gravity
Some reef encounters don’t behave like colour at all — they behave like force. This giant clam did exactly that, its mantle a riot of electric patterning circling a dark opening that read less like anatomy and more like a portal, a visual gravity well you could almost fall into. Ancient and futuristic at once, it carried that strange tension I always feel when looking at Aboriginal paintings — landscapes, starscapes, stories mapped in rhythm, repetition, and contrast, speaking from deep time while looking impossibly contemporary.
Tiger eye became the obvious anchor, all warm, molten light and shifting bands, holding the composition steady against the cool pulse of faceted aqua chalcedony. Beaver pearls soften the geometry, a quiet counterpoint to the stone’s intensity.
Set into a gold-plated base from Jaipur and Seoul, the earrings settle along the ear at 6.1 centimetres — compact, luminous, quietly magnetic.
The Statement Earrings will be beautifully gift-wrapped and ready as an exceptional gift for yourself or an unexpected gift for someone special.
