I am a serial sea star flipper, because the real theatre often unfolds on the underside — tiny commensal shrimps, barely visible, navigating a living landscape of texture and colour. This pair traces back to one of those moments: a shrimp no more than eight millimetres long, its impossible red eyes burning against the deeply velvety, mottled blue surface of a Linckia sea star. The contrast felt almost exaggerated, as if colour itself had been turned up beyond plausibility.

Dragon vein agate from Brazil became the natural translation. Its saturated, layered blues echo that same shifting, organic surface, while tiny raw quartz crystals introduce sharp points of pale interruption, mirroring the subtle light breaks across living tissue. Set into gold-plated elements sourced from Istanbul and the U.S., the warmth of gold sharpens depth against glow.
