This set began in that strange clarity of a night dive—when the background falls away into black and what remains feels improbably exposed. Colonial ascidians shift into something otherworldly under a torch beam: translucent electric blues where inner filter-feeding pathways seem visible, contrasted by the warmer lime tones of didemnid ascidians, denser but just as intricate if you look closely.

That tension—electric blue against warm lime, exposure against opacity—is what anchors this piece. And everything is held, quite deliberately, by black.

The necklace stays raw, almost geological. A plate of volcanic lava carries the centre, on which a small shard of quartz is set in gold, like clarity caught mid-formation. Around it: lavas, lemon jade, onyx, raw aquamarine, quartz—each material sharpening the story. Gold-plated elements from Istanbul add warmth without softening the edge. The two necklaces can be worn separately, stacked, or extended into a longer line.
