Ceylon Monsoon Mist

The inspiration photograph almost tells the story by itself: that little Sri Lankan macaque against weathered white stone, with a monsoon-washed sky reduced to the softest powder blue behind him. It is such an unexpectedly gentle palette for a tropical island, and exactly the feeling I wanted these earrings to carry.

I translated that moment through raw aquamarine and fresh green jade,tiny agates and peridots, keeping the aquamarine wonderfully rough so that its fractures and inclusions catch the light rather than behaving like a perfectly polished gemstone. Set into a silver-plated base from Istanbul & Seoul (7.8cm long).

And that is why I think these are so wearable: the colours are pale enough to work almost like neutrals, while the raw stones and long silver geometry give them character. They will illuminate the face without overwhelming it, particularly against winter blacks, greys and navy.

A little Sri Lankan monsoon light for days when you could use some of your own.
