N°101 Statement Earrings

When you go night diving with a UV torch (which emits light around 390 nm) fluorescent pigments that have photoprotective properties for the coral become visible ... and nothing will prepare you for this for the riot that is this luminescent glow from bright pinks and fluoro greens to the more emerald -blue fluoro that I saw in this coral off Komodo Island.

The only stone that comes close to mimicking this is Labradorite and so here is my attempt to translate yet another wonderful underwater experience into earrings.

Just as the coral’s pigments become visible under UV light, Labradorite reveals its colors when light hits its surface at different angles, creating a similarlymagical, shifting interplay of light.
