Night Muck diving in Tulamben has a way of rewarding patience. Out of the sediment, a burying anemone emerged — tentacles coiling into that unmistakable corkscrew anatomy, glowing with a saturated golden-orange light that felt almost engineered rather than biological.
That structure translated directly into design. Labradorite forms the visual backbone, chosen for its unstable metallic fire that mirrors the anemone’s shifting golden undertones, while carnelian introduces a controlled thermal warmth echoing the organism’s radiant orange glow.
The elongated drops, extending to 6.9 centimetres, deliberately exaggerate the organism’s vertical, unfolding geometry. A 22-carat gold-plated base from the U.S., Jaipur, and Seoul provides architectural rigidity, allowing colour and reflection to carry the movement.
The tiny star elements at the base, each punctuated with pyrite, act as precise flashes of light — a direct nod to the subtle, glinting highlights scattered across the anemone’s luminous tentacles.
Biology, reframed through stone, metal, and light.
