Night diving in the Coral Sea feels like slipping into another dimension — the world goes quiet, and colour starts to whisper instead of shout. That’s when I met the Dendronephthia soft coral — translucent, weightless, glowing like a secret told only to those who stay long enough to listen.

I wanted to capture that improbable mix of delicacy and strength. These 7cm earrings combine rose quartz and hematite in an Indian intarsia cut — the softest pink held by the steadiest grey, a contrast that makes both sing. Tiny rhodonite garnets add just a hint of pulse, a flicker of life.

Set into silver plating, they’re simplicity with a bang — quietly dazzling, like light seen underwater. They don’t try to impress; they just are.
