Coral Reborn

Some pieces arrive fully formed, like they’ve been waiting for you to notice. These 6.9 cm earrings began with a coral — or rather, its absence: a tiny hole, likely home to a blenny or worm I never saw, surrounded by hypnotic ridges that looked more designed than grown. That perfect geometry of life became the blueprint.

So I recreated it with woven Miyuki beads from Japan, their symmetry echoing the coral’s architecture. From each ring hangs a labradorite drop, glinting like refracted reef light, set into hammered gold-plated crescents. When I finished them, it felt eerie — as if the coral had found a way to live again, above the water this time.

They’re elegant but alive, classic yet quietly eccentric — the kind of earrings that don’t just accessorize; they evolve. Proof that sometimes, creation isn’t invention — it’s translation.
