N°746 Moonlight & the Ammonite's Daughter Statement Necklace

Nothing says Australian summer more than a turquoise colour palette, juxtaposed by warm earthy hues and plenty of rich warm gold. For me, having worked as a Marine Biologist for 25 years has imprinted that turquoise summer feeling onto my soul permanently, but I know this combination is universally loved. 

I used lots of Sea Sediment Jasper, Tiger Eye & chocolate brown pearls in this oceanic piece, complimented with lots of rich 22k gold-plated pieces.  I also included an Ammonite from Morocco, which creates the perfect bridge from an oceanic creature that is now found as a fossil in the earth. Paying homage to life on earth well before us - some 250 million years old – this Ammonite is still showing off its beauty and intricacy in incredible detail. 

Just let the thought sink in – you are wearing something on your neck that has lived 250 million years ago on in the ocean (today’s closest relatives are Nautilus mollusks). While this subtle colour palette is serious eye candy alone, this statement necklace also lives through the contrasting shapes of the many different semi-precious stones.
