This set begins with a statement necklace built around tiger eye slabs so extraordinary I hoarded them for over a decade. The modelled photo sits in the shade—unfortunately a little dark—but trust me: these stones are fully luminescent, shifting caramel to bronze to midnight just by turning your head. I finally let them go because they found their match in an Ethiopian verdigris cross—an artisan-made piece that refuses to fit neatly into one meaning. Crosses long predate Christianity; they’ve signified balance, direction, day meeting night. What I love about the Ethiopian interpretation is its freedom—playful, irregular, human.
